Larry and Terry Whitworth
Owner
Terry Whitworth as Director / teacher has over 20 years of experience and a early childhood education degree.
My name is Terry Whitworth. I am a proud member of the National Association for Family Child Care, and I am also a member of The National Association for the Education of Young Children. I have an associate degree in Early Childhood Education. I am currently enrolled at Gardner- Webb University in their Birth- Kindergarten Education Program and I will be receiving my bachelor’s degree in Spring 2022. I was recognized as the 2019 Family Child Care Home of the year by Child Care connections in Cleveland County. I have over 20 years of early childcare experience. I love what I do! I am the Board of Christian Education Director at my church. I am married to Larry Whitworth Sr. and we have 3 children.

Our mission is to provide quality childcare for all families in a warm, nurturing, loving and educational environment. The childcare needs of all economic levels are served, enabling families to obtain employment or to further their education.

Philosophy
Our responsibility is to introduce children to their first experience as a student in a classroom environment, lesson planning, social skills development and testing and evaluation. Lesson planning is the way we will introduce subject areas to them such as math, art, science and music. Social skills are part of our responsibility to make sure they understand the concepts of sharing, privacy and even respect. Testing and evaluation are important to access my student’s progress and abilities. It is also the responsibility of the teacher to be the leader and to make sure the environment is safe for all children. These are the skills they need in life. This is their foundation for the future. Education is very important. The reason I feel this way is because no one can take it away from you. Early childhood education is the foundation to something bigger and greater for your life. Health, safety, and nutrition are just a few other things we look out for in the students that we teach.

At Kids Cabin, we are a high-quality Family Child Care Home located in a quiet, safe neighborhood. We have been open since August 2004. We are license by the state of North Carolina. We are currently a four-star childcare home. We have over 20 years of experience in childcare! We believe each child has the potential to bring something unique and special into the world. By having a respectful and caring bond with both the student and the family, we as a school can create a solid foundation for a wonderful early childhood experience for our students. Through integrated lesson plans and active exploration of the world around them, play, interaction with others, memorable experiences and hands-on learning activities, our student’s development and growth occurs every second of every day. We strive to have the upmost respect and love for all children who walks through our Family Child Care Home door. We are a 24- hour Child Care Home.
